The pages on this site explain trademark, copyright and licensing in general terms. They are not legal advice, and the law and the offices’ rules change. What is right for you depends on facts only a conversation can bring out.

No attorney-client relationship yet

Reading this site, sending a message, or calling the office does not make Mina Tanabe your lawyer. That begins only when you and she have both signed an engagement letter. Until then, nothing you send is protected as confidential.

Past matters

Any description of past work, including the comments from clients on the home page, describes one client’s experience. Each matter is different, and none of them predicts what will happen in yours. No one can promise that a trademark will register or that a copy will stop.

Please keep the details to yourself for now

Do not send confidential information, unreleased designs, source code or trade secrets through the form or by email before an engagement letter is signed. A name, what you sell and where you sell it are enough to begin.
